Subject: Some SSH host keys changed Date: Wed, Jun 15 2022 -- 4:20 AM Posted by: Brian Marcotte
Some SSH host keys have changed on the Panix shell hosts.
If you are using SSH to connect with either of the following names, you are affected by this change:
shell.panix.com panix.panix.com
Note that SSH to any of the following names are NOT affected by this change. You may need to use one of these until you can make the required changes to your SSH known_hosts file.
panix1.panix.com panix2.panix.com panix3.panix.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Until you update your SSH known_hosts file, ssh will issue a big warning similar to this:
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ [and many more lines]
You need to update your SSH known_hosts file in order to connect.
The new keys are located at:
https://config.panix.com/vault/sshdata/ssh.ed25519 https://config.panix.com/vault/sshdata/ssh.rsa
Please see this document for complete installation instructions:
